  1. 3-1.

  2. 3-3. Remember, an excess $n$ code is a code in which the value $i$ is represented as the value $i+n$. The biased exponent used in floating point representations is an example of an excess code.

  3. 3-6.

  4. 3-13.

  5. 3-21. Your description should be clear and concise, as this is an instance of one of the standard circuit types that we discussed in class, albeit this particular circuit has negated outputs. (I can completely describe the circuit in about 15 words.)
