Homework 1

50 points, due Feb. 5, 1999

All problems are from the text. Solutions must be turned in in dead tree form. All other submissions will be sent to /dev/null. Unless otherwise noted, all problems are worth 10 points.

  1. Problem 1.56. 3 points.

  2. Problems 3.2, 3.3. 12 points.

  3. Problem 3.7.

  4. Problem 3.10 (group).

  5. Problem 3.12. 5 points.

  6. Problem 3.22 (group). You may assume that the decimal string is representable as an integer. The result left in $v0 should be printed. Turn in your SPIM source listing and sample runs recorded using script(1). The sample runs must demonstrate that your code fulfills the requirements of the problem.

Problems marked ``group'' are to be worked within the following groups:
  1. Alleghany: Grahame, Jelena, Chang.

  2. South: Rachel, Aaron, Claire.

  3. Tuscarora: Adam, Carlos.

  4. Tussey: Russ, Justin, Sze-Ling.

Each indivdual should submit their own copy of the group's solution. ( Where on earth did he get those group names???)
