  1. Get your username and password, if you haven't already done so.

Syllabus and Major Goals

  1. Objectives:
    1. Computing as communication.

    2. Cyberfluency: taking advantage of Internet resources; being an active participant. Establishing your independence and comfort with computing.

    3. Finding and evaluating information.

    4. Examining the relationship between society and technology.

    5. Getting our hands on technology.

    6. Working and communicating, synchronously and asynchronously, with others.

  2. Internet resources: class home page, discussion list, e-mail. Readings from sites on the web.

  3. Late assignment policy: 10% off the first day late, another 10% the second day late. Assignments more than two days late not accepted.

  4. Missed quizzes policy: if you can't make it to a quiz, make arrangements with me beforehand. Exceptions granted for emergencies.

  5. Class preparation. Attendance.

  6. Any requests for other topics?
