Class web page: http://phoenix.goucher.edu/~jillz/cs105

Course Description and Goals:
We will explore the concepts of computer programming using an authoring system called Alice which allows the manipulation of 3-D virtual worlds.
We will cover chapters 1-10 (omitting chapter 8)  in the text.

Course Objectives:

Course Mechanics:
Students will be expected to read the material in the textbook prior to class and most of class time will be spent on activities designed to bring understanding through exploration. Labs will be given for each chapter in the book. Much of the lab work will be done in class.

You are expected to attend class and to arrive on time.

Lab work will not be accepted late and must be an individual effort. (See the Honor code for definition and disposition of academic dishonesty.) Projects may be done in pairs but you must clearly document which partner did what.

Grading:
Your course grade will be based on the following:

Labs 50%
Projects 50%
