Frontpage II

CS 102

Nov. 14, 2001

In this lab, you'll learn how to create a Web, create and format a web page, and add pages to a Web.

Preliminary

We're going to make it more convenient to get at the practice files. Follow these steps:

  1. Right click on My Computer and choose Map Network Drive.

  2. A dialog box will open. Select S: as the drive and enter \\ phoenix\cs102 as the folder. Select Reconnect at Logon.

  3. You'll see a folder open after a few seconds. Close it.

  4. Open My Computer and notice that you have an S: drive that you didn't have before. Open it and you'll see the practice folders we've been using all semester. From now on, you'll access these folders from the S: drive.

Lesson 2

Before starting lesson 2 in the FrontPage text read these notes:

  1. Remember, you'll be using your My Webs folder, which you created the other day, in your personal folder on the G: drive.

  2. At several points in the lesson, you're asked to enter a set of folders. For example on pg. 21 in step 3: C:\My Webs\MyWizardDemo. You'll need to modify this to access the My Webs folder you created on the G: drive.

If, when you open the G: drive, it directly opens your personal folder you would modify the above set of folders to

                G:\My Webs\MyWizardDemo

If, when you open the G: drive, you must navigate to your personal folder and then open it you would modify the above set of folders to

                G:\Your Name\My Webs\MyWizardDemo

Make sure you change Your Name to your login name!!!

  3. When you import the Lesson 2 practice web (pg. 30, step 4), you want to look inside the S: drive you connected earlier.
