Course Description and Goals: We will study major elements of computer science. Topics include recursion, introduction to computational complexity, procedural abstraction and data abstraction.

Course Objectives:

Course Mechanics: Lab work will be given nearly every week. Each lab will include problems to be turned in for grading. Although discussion of course work among students is highly desirable and encouraged, all work handed in for grading must be a result of an individual effort. (See the Honor code for definition and disposition of academic dishonesty). Late homework will be accepted at most one class meeting late with a 25% penalty.

Short (10-15 minute) quizzes will be given about every other week. The lowest quiz score will be dropped and no make-ups will be given.

Grading:
Your course grade will be based on the following:
        Quizzes 10%
        2 Exams (20% each)  40%
        Comprehensive Final  20%
        Labs  30%
