Privacy Issues

We will consider issues regarding privacy of information residing on computer systems.

Required Readings:

Case Studies:

• Administrator Dilemma http://www.nd.edu/~rbarger/admin-cse.html
• Risks of academic cheating by computer http://www.nd.edu/~rbarger/cp-cheat.cse

Assignment:

For each of the case studies, write a brief (1/2 - 1 page) position paper. Succinctly state in a couple of sentences the ethical issues illustrated. Then describe in a paragraph or two your views on the issues.

Grading Criteria:

1. Good grammar and spelling
2. Clear description of issues
3. Well supported position. (I will not grade your position as being right or wrong. But you must support whatever position you take.)
